Terms and Conditions

By using Dios es Amor, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms, our Privacy Policy, our Community guidelines and our Child safety standards, which are part of this agreement. These Terms apply to every person who uses the Service.

Dios es Amor is a Catholic app to pray, listen to and read devotional content (prayers, the rosary, novenas, the gospel of the day, Bible stories, saints and podcasts) and to read the complete Catholic Bible, with marks, highlights and notes, and with verse images you can share or download to your gallery. It also accompanies you with your daily streak, your saint medals, virtual coins, notifications and reminders.

The app no longer has a social part: there is no feed and no posts, comments, reactions, polls, followers, blocking, people search, routines or reports. These features were retired starting with version 1.8.0, and content published before then stops being shown and is deleted.

Its purpose is to accompany your prayer life. The content is devotional and does NOT replace the guidance of your parish, of a priest, or of a physical or mental health professional.

Using the app is free. Some content and medals are unlocked with coins, which you earn without paying by watching rewarded ads or with the daily gift (sections 11 and 12). Anyone who wishes can support the project with an optional subscription, which also removes ads and unlocks everything that opens with coins (section 13).

Dios es Amor is intended for adults. We do not ask for your date of birth.

If a minor uses the app, they should do so only with the permission and under the supervision of their parent or guardian. If we learn that an account belongs to a child under 13, we delete it.

A person whose account we have suspended or closed cannot use the app.

You can begin without signing up. When you tap “Get started”, we create an account for you with no email and no password, with a random, easy-to-read user code (for example, luz-esperanza-4821), the name “Amigo de Dios” (Friend of God) and a randomly chosen photo and cover, which you can change whenever you like. What you do in the app is stored on our servers, tied to that account and to the session open on your phone.

Important: until you save your account, it can only be accessed from that session. If you sign out, uninstall the app or change phones without having saved it, the account cannot be recovered, not even by us.

You can save your account with Google at any time. At that moment we receive your name, your email and your photo from Google, and your account keeps everything it already had. If that Google account already had a Dios es Amor account, you enter that account and the unsaved account is not merged into it. To subscribe to a support plan, you must first save your account with Google.

Accounts created earlier with email and password keep working as before. Your password is never stored the way you type it: we store it turned into a fingerprint that cannot be turned back into the original (a “hash”), so nobody, not even us, can see it. If you forget it, tap “Forgot my password”: we send a code to your email and with it you choose another one. New accounts can only be created with “Get started” or with Google. For now there is no sign-in with Apple, with a phone number or with other services.

You are responsible for what is done from your account. If you use a password, choose one you do not use on other sites and do not give it to anyone. Tell us right away if you see something you do not recognize. The account is personal: do not lend it or pass it to another person.

Your profile (name, photo and cover) is visible only to you. Other people cannot see your profile, find it or write to you through the app. The same goes for what you keep: your Bible marks, highlights and notes, your saved content, your history and the intentions you write when offering your medals.

You keep ownership of the photos and texts you put in the app. You grant us a free, non-exclusive and limited license solely to store them and show them to you inside the Service; it ends when you delete them or your account. Choose a name and photos that you have the right to use and that follow our Community guidelines.

The verse images the app creates are for your personal use: you can save them to your gallery (after watching a rewarded ad, unless you have Support) and share them with anyone, for non-commercial purposes. When you share them, they leave the app and stay wherever you send them.

We apply ZERO TOLERANCE to any form of child sexual abuse or exploitation and report it to the authorities as the law requires. The full rules are in our Community guidelines and our Child safety standards, which you agree to follow.

Even though only you see your profile, it is stored on our servers. That is why, among other things, it is forbidden to:

• Use sexual, violent, hateful or illegal content, or content that sexualizes minors, as your name, photo or cover.
• Use another person's name or image, or that of a priest or a Church institution, to impersonate them.
• Try to access other people's accounts, or attack, overload or automatically copy the app or our servers.
• Sell, give away or trade accounts, coins or medals, or abuse store purchases and refunds.
• Cheat with coins or ads, for example with automated programs, fake clicks or accounts created only to collect coins.
• Use the app for any purpose contrary to the law or to the rights of other people.

The app, its brand, design, logos, software and the official content (guided prayers, illustrations, audios, podcasts, texts, verse images and medals that we publish) are protected by intellectual property rights and belong to us or are used under license. This includes content prepared with the help of artificial intelligence and reviewed by us (section 9).

Beyond the personal use these Terms allow, you may not copy, modify, distribute them or create derivative works without authorization.

The devotional content seeks to accompany you, not to replace pastoral accompaniment or professional care. If you are going through a crisis or a health emergency, go to your doctor, to the emergency services of your country or to a helpline. The app is not an emergency service.

Part of the app's official content is prepared with the help of artificial intelligence tools: some prayer and reflection texts, background images, illustrations and the images of the saint medals. A person on our team reviews it before it is published.

Even so, that content may contain errors or inaccuracies. It is devotional material: it does not replace the teaching of the Catholic Church, Sacred Scripture or the official liturgical texts, and it is not pastoral, medical, psychological or legal advice. For any question of faith, turn to your parish or a priest.

The Bible and the traditional prayers are taken from their sources; artificial intelligence does not generate them. We do not use your data or what you keep in the app (such as your notes or your intentions) to train artificial intelligence models, nor do we send them to AI services.

Using Dios es Amor costs nothing: prayers, the rosary, novenas, the gospel of the day, Bible stories, saints, podcasts, the complete Bible, your streak and your reminders. Some content and some medals are unlocked with coins, which can always be earned for free (section 11).

The only paid item is the support subscription, which is optional and explained in section 13. We will not take away, without notice, free devotional features that are already available.

Coins (“monedas”) are a virtual currency inside the app. You earn them by watching a rewarded ad, if you choose to, and with the daily gift. They are used to unlock some content and some saint medals.

Coins have no monetary value: they cannot be bought with money, exchanged for money or goods, transferred to another account or refunded. They are part of your account and are lost if you delete it; what you have already unlocked with them remains yours as long as the account exists.

We may change how many coins you earn from each ad or from the daily gift, how many each piece of content or medal costs, and what can be unlocked. If we detect cheating with coins or ads, we may remove the coins obtained that way.

People with an active support subscription have everything that opens with coins unlocked for as long as the subscription lasts.

To sustain the app we show rewarded ads from Google AdMob. You decide when to watch one: to earn coins or to download a verse image to your gallery, which requires watching a rewarded ad. Sharing the image does not require an ad.

The ads are served by Google, not by us, and we do not endorse the products or services they advertise. People with an active support subscription do not see ads. How data is used for ads is explained in the Privacy Policy.

Dios es Amor lives thanks to those who support it. If you want to help keep the app going, you can subscribe to “Support Dios es Amor” on one of these plans: Support (US$4.99 per month or US$49.99 per year) and Support Plus (US$9.99 per month or US$99.99 per year). The final price may vary by country, currency and the taxes the store applies; you will always see it clearly before confirming the purchase.

Before subscribing you must save your account with Google (section 4), so that your support and your medals always stay with you.

What you receive in return: support is above all recognition. Everything support unlocks can also be obtained for free with coins.

• No ads while your subscription is active.
• Everything that is unlocked with coins, open while your subscription is active.
• Saint medals: for every month paid you receive one credit to choose the medal of any saint you like from our collection and offer it for your intention (Support: one per month; Support Plus: two per month). With an annual plan you receive the credits for all 12 months at once (12 with Support, 24 with Support Plus).
• A Support frame on your profile photo while your subscription is active.
• With Support Plus, early access to new features.
• The medals you have already chosen stay with you forever, even if you cancel or change plan. Credits you have not used yet are also kept so you can choose whenever you want.

The subscription is purchased only through Google Play or Apple's App Store, with the account and payment method you have in that store. We never see or store your card details. There is no other way to pay.

It renews automatically at the end of each period (monthly or annual) at the price in force, unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the period ends. You can cancel whenever you want, change plan or update your payment method from the store: in the app, Menu › My support › “Change or cancel” takes you straight there. When you cancel, your support continues until the end of the period already paid and you are not charged again.

Refunds are handled by the store under its own policies (Google Play or Apple), not by us; we will point you in the right direction if you write to us. If a renewal payment fails, the store retries it during a grace period; if it is not collected, the subscription ends.

To know which subscription you have and grant your medals we use RevenueCat, a service that processes subscription status. It receives the identifier of your account in the app and the purchase data the store sends it; never your card details. If you change phones, sign in with the same Google account and tap “Recover my support” with the same store account.

Support goes toward developing and maintaining the app. It is not a charitable donation and is not tax deductible, and it does not give you the right to decide on content. Deleting your account does not cancel the subscription in the store: cancel it there before deleting. We may change prices or plans in the future; price changes will be notified to you by the store before they apply to your renewal.

The use of your data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what data we store, what for, who it is shared with, how long we keep it and what rights you have.

You can delete your account whenever you want from the app, whether or not you saved it with Google: go to Profile, open the Menu, scroll to the bottom and tap “Delete account”. If you already uninstalled the app or cannot sign in, write to us at diosesamorporsiempre.cloud@gmail.com from your account email and we will delete it for you. When you delete it, we sign you out, anonymize your profile, release your email if you had one and erase your data as detailed in the Privacy Policy, including your coins, what you unlocked with them, your medals and your support credits. Backups renew themselves within 30 days at most.

If you have a support subscription, cancel it in the store before deleting the account: deleting it does not stop the billing.

We may suspend or close your account if you break these Terms or the law, or if your use puts the Service or other people at risk. You can terminate this agreement by deleting your account.

The sections that by their nature must survive (intellectual property, liability, indemnity) keep applying after termination.

The app is offered “as is” and “as available”, with the greatest possible care. We do not guarantee that the Service will work without interruptions or errors, that it will be secure at all times, or that the content will be accurate or complete.

To the extent permitted by law, we give no implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, nor for the loss of an account that was not saved with Google or of its coins, for products or services advertised by third parties, for the use or impossibility of using the Service, or for decisions you make based on the spiritual content, which is devotional.

You agree to hold us harmless against third party claims arising from the photos or texts you put in the app, from your use of the app or from your breach of these Terms or of the law.

If you obtained the app on Apple's App Store or on Google Play, you also accept the conditions of that store. Support for the app is provided by us, not by Apple or Google. Apple and Google are not responsible for the app or its content. Support subscriptions are billed by the store under its billing terms.

In Apple's case, it is a third party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them. You declare that you are not in a country subject to embargo nor on lists of prohibited parties.

We may update these Terms. We will notify you of important changes inside the app or by other means. If you keep using the app after the effective date, you accept the version in force.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Nicaragua. Any dispute will be submitted to the competent courts of Nicaragua, unless the law provides otherwise. You always keep the rights that the law of your own country grants you, especially as a consumer.
