Delete your Dios es Amor account

You can delete your account whenever you want, without asking permission and without giving reasons. It is free and you can do it yourself from your phone in under a minute. If you already uninstalled the app, you can also request it by email.

Please note: deleting your account is permanent. It cannot be undone and we cannot recover your content afterwards. If you ever want to come back, you will have to create a brand new account.

How to delete it from the app, step by step

This is the fastest way and you can do it yourself:

  1. Open the Dios es Amor app on your phone and sign in to your account.
  2. Tap “Profile”, the last button on the bottom bar, to open your profile.
  3. Tap the three-line button, at the top right, to open the Menu.
  4. Scroll down to the end of the Menu.
  5. Tap the “Delete account” option, shown in red at the end of the list.
  6. Read the screen that explains what will happen and tap the “Delete my account” button.
  7. A final confirmation notice will appear. Tap “Delete”.

That is all. The account is deleted right then and you are signed out on every device. If you also want to remove the app from your phone, uninstall it like any other application.

Write to us from the same email address you registered with, at this address:

In your message please include:

  • The subject: “Account deletion request”.
  • The name you appear under in the app.
  • The email address you created the account with, if you are writing from a different one.

We will write back to confirm it is really you before deleting anything. We will never ask for your password: we do not have it and nobody on our team can see it.

What data is erased

When you delete your account we permanently erase from our database:

  • Your name, your email address, your password, your biography, your interests and your time zone. Your account is anonymized and your email address is released: if you ever want to come back, you can sign up again with the same address.
  • Your profile photo, your cover photo and the photos and videos in your posts and comments. Those files are deleted from our storage.
  • The phones and tablets you had registered for notifications, together with your notification preferences. You stop receiving notifications immediately.
  • The verification codes linked to your account.
  • Your current streak, your record streak, your activity days and your streak freezes.
  • Your favorites, your Bible marks (highlights, notes and saved verses), your prayer routines and the history of what you listened to or read.
  • Your reactions, your poll votes, the testimonies you wrote about content, and the collections you had joined.
  • Your notifications.
  • The people you were following and the people who were following you.
  • Your blocks: both the ones you made and the ones other people made on you.
  • The reports you sent about other people or about their content.

Your session closes right then on every device, your profile stops existing for the rest of the community, and your posts and comments disappear from the app immediately.

What data is kept and for how long

We want to be clear: there is little information that does not disappear straight away, and only for these reasons.

  • Your posts and your comments

    They stop being visible in the app the moment you delete the account and they no longer carry your name, your photo or your email address. The record is marked as deleted, with the date, and without any data that identifies you.

  • The anonymized account

    We do not erase your account row: we empty it. It is left with the name “Usuario eliminado” (deleted user), no password, no photo, and an internal made-up email address that cannot be used to contact you. That way the rest of the app keeps working without holding anything of yours.

  • Reports other people made about your content

    They are kept as a moderation record, without your profile data (no name, no photo and no email address), for as long as they are needed to review the case, protect the community and prevent the same conduct from being repeated with a new account.

  • Backups

    Database backups are rotated and deleted automatically. No backup copy is kept for more than 30 days and nobody consults them during that time.

  • What the law requires

    If a Guatemalan law or a competent authority requires us to keep certain information, we keep it only for as long as that obligation lasts and only for that purpose.

None of this is used to contact you again, nor shared with anyone for commercial purposes.

How long the request takes

  • From the app: the deletion happens the moment you confirm. There is no waiting or recovery period: your profile, your posts and your data stop being available immediately and your session closes by itself.
  • By email: we reply within the following 5 business days to confirm your identity and we process the deletion as soon as you confirm. It never takes more than 30 days from the moment we receive your request.
  • Backups: any data left in an earlier backup copy disappears with the normal rotation of the backups, within 30 days at most.

If after that period you believe something of yours is still in the app, write to us at soporte@diosesamorporsiempre.cloud and we will look into it.
